Bradfield Parish Council
I recently stood for a position on Bradfield Parish Council and am happy to inform you that I was successful in gaining a position. If you have any issue that you would like to raise then I can be contacted via the details on the ‘Contact Us’ section.
We are still waiting for Bovis to submit a planning application for this site. We will of course keep you informed.
Village Appraisal Results
These are now available on the via the website and can be found on the ‘Information’–>’Downloads’ section.
Lack of Updates & Action
I’d like to apologise for the lack of updates to the site and also the lack of progress that the forum has made. This has been largely due to illness within the committee members. Thankfully those members involved are now well on the mend and committee meetings will resume shortly (hopefully sometime during June or July 2007).
The Village Appraisal has gone well with a very satisfying return rate of 30%. We are currently preparing the results document for presentation at two public meetings which will be arranged shortly. However, we are starting to begin work already on some of the things that residents wanted.
The Hepworths Site has been sold to Bovis Homes, one of the countries largest house builders. Bovis Homes intend to build 3 distinct ‘hamlets’ on the site, although there are no firm details as yet, Government guidelines would allow them to build around 500 homes. Bovis Homes held a bad tempered public meeting about the site, which is reported here. LVDCF have met with representatives of Bovis Homes and are keen to represent the consensus of views from Loxley village residents, to enable us to do this we have included several questions about the site in the forthcoming Village Appraisal
Bovis Homes have arranged another public meeting!
Date: Tuesday 22 November 2005
Time: Open Forum 2pm – 5pm
Venue: Wisewood Methodist Church Hall, Ben Lane
Time: Public meeting 7pm – 9pm
Venue: Wisewood Secondary School, Rural Lane
Council Homes Stock Transfer
Sheffield City Council are currently involved in a process that will result in the council homes in the area being transferred to Pennine Housing 2000. We are assured that this will mean more investment in the existing council properties and local facilities. Details of Pennine Housing 2000 cane be found here. LVDCF will participate in the process, if you have any concerns or queries then please contact us, our contact details in the ‘Contact Us’ section in the menu above.
Loxley Village Appraisal
A village appraisal is a detailed analysis of the needs of a village, usually involving the completion of a questionnaire by residents, followed by analysis of the responses and the creation of an action plan to address the issues raised. LVDCF will work to improve amenities in the area by raising projects and applying for the necessary funding. Funding applications are much more likely to be successful if they can be supported by the detailed findings of a village appraisal. The results of the appraisal will also allow us to represent the wishes and desires of the community to local authorities. It is hoped that the village appraisal questionnaires will be delivered before the end of 2005
