Who we are, and what we do …

Loxley River Covered Barn Olive Mill Dam

Loxley Village is a beautiful area of Sheffield, with stunning views and fantastic wildlife. However, because of it’s rural nature, very few amenities currently exist.

Loxley Village & District Community Forum was set up by local people with the aim of improving amenities and services in the area; and to encourage local residents to become actively involved in the decisions that may affect them.

Loxley Village & District Communty Forum will work to:

  • Raise funds and help improve local facilities
  • Raise awareness of issues that may affect the community
  • Gather and disseminate information

The forum is relatively young, having only been created in April 2005.

It was formerly a village in the West Riding of Yorkshire registered under Wortley Rural District Council until it became absorbed into Sheffield in the 1974 boundary changes.

Our Projects …

 Village Appraisal

The forum is currently working on a Village Appraisal questionnaire that will be distributed to approximately 800 homes. This questionnaire is supported by the North Area Regeneration Partnership and is an excellent tool to demonstrate local voice and opinion on the issues that matter to residents, and enable communities to plan how these issues can be resolved.
The results of the questionnaire will be used to determine the forums projects and priorities.
